Volker Hörauf has developed over the basis of a classical piano education into a passionate guitar player. Playing music was and has always been something indispensable and self-evident in his life!
But above all, Hörauf is a craftsman – a craftsman with a passion!
And thus the best preconditions for instrument making were in the blood of the trained carpenter and studied engineer woodworking from the very beginning!

Anyone who has had the opportunity to look over his shoulder at work will immediately get an idea of his skill and craftsmanship as well as his pronounced sense of perfection and accuracy. Only the 100% satisfies him, every step of the process is given the most possible care and every detail is worked out with the same best possible dedication. There is no compromise, neither in the materials he uses nor in each step of the process from planning to the finished guitar.
After his training with the Swedish master builder Michael Sanden in 2017, Volker Hörauf took the consistent step into self-employment after only a few years and combined his passions for music and wood in professional guitar building.
Since then, Hörauf has been creating one instrument after another in his beautiful workshop in Traryd, each time with the same care, the same perfection and the same ambition to build the next instrument even more beautiful, even more sonorous, even more masterful.
In each Hörauf guitar, there is a great passion for the natural material wood and its very special sound characteristics. Thus, each piece is unique and can also be individually adapted to the wishes of the customer.
